Registering Personal Devices

Personal wireless device need to be registered using a valid SUNY Ulster username and password before they will be able to access the Internet. The steps below will walk you through the process of registering your wireless device.

Connecting to the Wireless Zone
Connect to the SUNY-Ulster wireless zone (SSID). Refer to your device's documentation if you are unsure how to connect to a wireless zone (SSID).
Once connected, open your preferred browser (i.e. Firefox) and navigate to an Internet site (ie. http://www.google.com).
Your browser should display the SUNY Ulster Network Registration Page.

Registering your Device
Review the Personal Computer Network Access Policy.
Type in your SUNY Ulster username and password and click the Accept button to accept the policy and register your device.
You should receive a message that your registration was successful.

Reboot / Reconnect
It is required to reboot your computer after a successful registration. Wireless phone, iPad, and iTouch users should disable their wireless and then reconnect to the access point.

Special note for iPhone and iTouch users:
Several versions of the iPhone and iTouch operating systems (i.e. v3.x) are not compatible with our registrations system. Please visit OIT (HAS 115) with your SUNY Ulster ID card and wireless device. Someone from our technical team will gather your information and manually register you device with our system.

Please note that the Office of Information Technology cannot provide technical support for personally owned devices.
