Electronic Time Sheets

Below are several resources to help you check your leave balances, fill out and submit a leave request, fill out and submit your time sheet, and approve time sheets for employees that report to you.

Filling Out and Submitting a Time Sheet:
How you fill out your time sheet depends on what type of employee you are.  Some employees record only leave time, while others record what time they start and stop working.  For Details on how to fill out and submit your time sheet, click the link below that applies to you:

Time Entry for Student Workers/Student Aides:
Student workers/student aides record when they start and when the stop work.  This is known as "time-in/time-out reporting." Student employees are not eligible for leave time.  There is a text based guide (with screenshots) to help you through filling out and submitting a time sheet linked below:

Time Entry for Full Time OPAP and Management Confidential Employees:
Full Time OPAP and Management Confidential Employees record only their leave time taken, and do not report hours worked. This is known as "exception based reporting."  There is a text based guide (with screenshots) to help you through filling out and submitting a time sheet using this method.  There is also a video tutorial available.  Choose one below:

Full Time CSEA employees record when they start and when the stop work.  This is known as "time-in/time-out reporting." There is a text based guide (with screenshots) to help you through filling out and submitting a time sheet using this method.

Time Entry for Part Time Employees (NOT student workers):
Part Time employees record when they start and when the stop work.  This is known as "time-in/time-out reporting." Part Time entry differs from Full Time "time-in/time-out" entry with regard to leave. Part Time time sheets lack the various types of leave and lumps all leave into a single category of "leave credits" (if eligible).  There is a text based guide (with screenshots) to help you through filling out and submitting a time sheet using this method.

Approving Time Sheets and Leave Requests:
If you have employees that report to you, your time sheet responsibility doesn't end with you submitting your time sheet.  You also have to review and sign off on the time sheets of those who report to you.

Setting Up Your Proxy Approver:
You will likely not always be available to review and approve time sheets for your direct reports.  You take vacations too, right?  To allow someone else to approve time sheets on your behalf when you are unavailable, you need to set them up as your proxy approver.

Leave Requests allow your supervisor to plan around foreseen staff absences.  They also make filling your time sheet out easier by automatically putting your approved leave time on your time sheet.  The below guide shows you how to create and submit one:
